What is the diff between the model families?
The SC units are
more of an "entry level" smart ups. Actually they were replaced by the
SMC units. The SC units output a step approximated sine wave just like
our back up units. These units also do not have a smart slot. The SMC
units now output a pure sine save and have a LCD display on it. The SMT
units output a pure sine wave, and have a better(more info) LCD display.
They also have a smart slot in case you wanted to install a network
management card. I would suggest the SMT1500 but if cost is a deciding
factor, I would at least consider the SMC1500 as it does have the pure
sine save and a better LCD(than the SC) I'm not sure if you're familiar
with our network management cards but the biggest advantage of those is
the ability to integrate with our software, power chute network
shutdown. This will be very helpful if you have multiple servers needing
to be shutdown on the same UPS. Otherwise, it's just a nice way to
remotely monitor your UPS over your network(rather than usb or serial).
